Early start paces Regiment to big win over Saint John

Three first period goals lead Regiment to fourth straight win.

The Newfoundland Regiment ran their winning streak to four games with a 7–3 victory over the Saint John Sea Dogs on Wednesday night at the Mary Brown’s Centre.

Liam Arsenault opened the scoring just 95 seconds into the contest, and the Regiment poured it on early. Tyson Goguen and Ryan Dwyer added goals before the midway point of the first period as Newfoundland jumped out to a 3–0 lead after 20 minutes.

The hosts kept rolling in the second, with Alexis Michaud, Dawson Sharkey and Justin Larose all scoring within the opening eight minutes of the frame to stretch the lead to 6–0.

Saint John mounted a brief comeback with three straight goals, but Goguen sealed the result with his second of the night with 59 seconds remaining, securing the 7–3 final.
