Brad Gushue’s Newfoundland and Labrador rink, comprised of Gushue, Mark Nichols, Brendan Bottcher and Geoff Walker, eked out a 9-8 win over Team Nova Scotia in Draw 11 of the 2026 Montana’s Brier, staying undefeated at 5-0.
Team Gushue is joined at the top of the standings by Team Canada’s Brad Jacobs and Team Alberta’ Kevin Koe.
Nathan Young’s Newfoundland rink was also successful on Day Five of the Brier, winning their only match of the day 10-8 over Team Ontario, bringing their record to 3-3.
WEDNESDAY SCHEDULE
Both Team Gushue and Team Young are back in action at 9:30 a.m. on Monday morning, with Team Gushue taking on Team Prince Edward Island, and Team Young taking on Team Knapp from Saskatchewan.
Looking at the schedules of the remaining undefeated teams, Team Alberta will take on Northern Ontario at 2:30 p.m.
In the final draw of the day at 7:30 p.m., Team Gushue returns to action against Team Knapp of Saskatchewan, while Team Young’s NL rink will try to break the win streak of the reigning Olympic champions in Team Jacobs in their final match of the round robin.
THURSDAY MARKS FINAL DAY BEFORE PLAYOFFS
Following Wednesday’s action, there will be just one day of round robin curling left before the playoff rounds begin.
Thursday’s 2:30 p.m. draw will feature one of the most anticipated matchups of the tournament with Team Gushue taking on Team Jacobs in the battle of Olympic champions.
