Newfoundland and Labrador’s Team Gushue collected an 8-4 over Team Ontario in Draw Five on Sunday to be one of just four teams to carry an undefeated record into Day Five at the 2026 Montana’s Brier in St. John’s.
Team Gushue (3-0), Brad Jacob’s Team Canada rink (3-0) Kevin Koe’s Alberta squad (3-0) and Manitoba’s Matt Dunstone (2-0) are the only four teams to have not yet recorded a loss at this year’s event.
MONDAY’S SCHEDULE
In the 9:30 a.m. draw on Monday, Newfoundland’s Team Nathan Young (2-1) is back in action against Team Nova Scotia (0-2).
Other matchups include Team Nunavut (0-3) taking on Team PEI (0-3), Team Saskatchewan (Knapp) (1-1) taking on Team Quebec (1-1) and Team Canada’s Brad Jacobs (3-0) playing Team Ontario (2-1).
In Draw Eight at 2:30 p.m., Saskatchewan (McEwen) will face Northern Ontario, the Northwest Territories will face Team Dunstone’s Manitoba rink, Team British Columbia will face Team Manitoba (Calvert) and the Yukon will take on New Brunswick.
The final draw of the day at 7:30 p.m. may be the most anticipated one for Newfoundland and Labrador curling fans, as the two local teams, Team Gushue and Team Young, are set to do battle.
Team Nova Scotia will also play Team Quebec, Prince Edward Island will take on Saskatchewan (Knapp) and Nunavut will clash with Ontario.
