WEST SENIOR SEMI FINALS: Cataracts embarrass Royals to punch ticket to finals

Kurt Etchegary had SEVEN points to lift the Cats to victory in five games.

Nine different skaters recorded a multi-point game, including Kurt Etchegary picking up seven assists to lead the Grand Falls Windsor Cataracts to a decisive 12-1 victory over the Corner Brook Royals on Friday night in Grand Falls, winning the Central West Senior Hockey League semi-finals in five games.

Brent Broaders and Nathan Larose both recorded hat tricks for the Cats, while Cody Drover recorded two goals and four assists for six points. 

Jeffery James Fewer (2G), Mark Davis and Tyler Anthony also scored for Grand Falls, while Matthew Colbourne replied with the lone goal for Corner Brook.

Domenic Graham stopped all but one of the 29 shots he faced to pick up the win in goal, while Bradley Power (7 GA, 23 saves) and Kai Moores-Barry (5GA,13 saves) shared the goaltending duties for Corner Brook.

The Cataracts will now face the Deer Lake Red Wings in the Central West Senior Hockey League finals.
