PLAYOFF BOUND: Regiment clinch playoff spot

In their first season in the QMJHL, the Newfoundland Regiment have qualified for the playoffs.

In their first season in the QMJHL, the Newfoundland Regiment are playoff bound.

Riding a five-game winning streak, the Regiment have earned their spot in the postseason and will compete for the chance to win the Gilles Corteau Trophy.

The Regiment currently sit in third place in the QMJHL’s Eastern Conference with a 31-19-1-1 record for 64 points through 52 games played.

Newfoundland has 12 games remaining in its regular season schedule. The team concludes a four-game homestand this week with a pair of games against the Cape Breton Eagles on Friday, February 20 and Saturday, February 21.

The troops’ final game of the regular season is Saturday, March 21 at home against the Halifax Mooseheads.
