There’s plenty to talk about when it comes to sports in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Now, we’ve got a place to talk about it.
NL Sports Talk is the official podcast of NL Sports Network, bringing the stories, conversations and personalities from the province’s sports scene directly to listeners and viewers.
The podcast is an extension of what we’re building here at NLSN: dedicated coverage of the athletes, teams, coaches, organizations and communities that make Newfoundland and Labrador sports worth following.
But not every story fits into a game recap or a headline.
That’s where NL Sports Talk comes in.
Hosted by NLSN Managing Editor Chris Ballard, the podcast will feature conversations with people from across the provincial sports landscape, along with discussion about the teams and events making headlines throughout the season. We’ll talk about what’s happening on the ice and on the field, but we’ll also get into the stories behind the scores: the people, moments and experiences that make sports matter to the communities that follow them.
Listeners can expect interviews, season previews and reactions, behind-the-scenes conversations, local sports history, and plenty of discussion about the teams and athletes representing Newfoundland and Labrador.
And, as the show grows, we want the conversation to grow with it.
The first two episodes are available now
To kick things off, we’ve released two episodes of NL Sports Talk.
Episode 1: Welcome to NL Sports Talk
The first episode serves as an introduction to the podcast and to NLSN itself.
Chris sits down to explain what NL Sports Talk is all about, why NLSN was created, and what listeners can expect from the podcast and the network as the season gets underway.
It’s a short introduction, but it sets the stage for what’s to come.
Episode 2: The Regiment Return
For the second episode, we turn our attention to the Newfoundland Regiment and their second season in the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League.
After making their debut in the QMJHL last season, the Regiment are back for another year, and there’s plenty to discuss as the club continues to establish itself on the provincial sports landscape.
We take a closer look at the Regiment, their second season in the league, and what fans can watch for as the new campaign gets underway.
