Records fall at 98th running of Tely 10

Davies sets course record, while Bazeley claim’s 10th women’s title

Ontario-born Andrew Davies made headlines on Sunday at the 98th running of the Tely 10, setting a new unofficial course record in claiming top spot in the men’s category.

Davies completed his 10-mile (or 16-kilometre) race with a chip time of 46:50, narrowly breaking the longstanding course record of 47:04 set by Tely 10 legend Paul McCloy in 1985.

In the women’s division, St. John’s native Kate Bazely pushed her Tely 10 win streak to six as she crossed the line with a time of 55:46.

The victory was Bazeley’s 10th in Tely 10 competition.
