HO HUM, ANOTHER COMEBACK WIN: Regiment recover to defeat Victoriaville for eighth consecutive victory

Make it eight wins in a row for the Newfoundland Regiment.

Alexey Vlasov and Thomas Paquet had the Victoriaville Tigres up by a pair of goals with less than five minutes left in the second period, but the Newfoundland Regiment rattled off four consecutive goals in the final 25 minutes of action to earn a 4-2 win at the Colisee Desjardins in Victoriaville on Saturday night.

Captain Justin Larose’s 30th goal of the season at the 10:39 mark of the third period proved to be the game-winner. He would finish the game with a goal and an assist and was named the game’s first star.

Blake Pilgrim-Edwards, Alexis Mathieu and Louis-Francois Belanger also scored for the Regiment, while Louis-Antoine Denault looked sharp with 22 saves.

The win was the eighth straight for Newfoundland, who haven’t lost since a 3-0 setback against Moncton on February 1. The Regiment have now completed the February portion of their schedule, and finished the month with an 8-1-0-0 record.

Newfoundland returns to action on Sunday, March 1 with a rematch against the Tigres.
